There's nothing like a bit of eyeshadow to brighten up your eye look.
With so many different palettes available from beautiful neon brights, to subtle warm tones, us beauty lovers are absolutely spoilt for choice. There's just one problem though - eyeshadow palettes can be seriously expensive.
Of course we stand by the phrase 'you get what you pay for' but sometimes, you can get some seriously good eyeshadow for the fraction of the price of high-end brands. Whether you're a makeup lover or not, eyeshadow can be great for special occasions as well as everyday wear, and we wanted to see which one was best.

There's a lot of different factors that make up a good eyeshadow palette, from the pigment of the shadow to the way it blends. That's why we wanted to test some products from three different brands, to see which one was worth your money.
We decided to try out eyeshadow palettes from popular brand Morphe, Beauty Bay and Aldi's Lacura to see which one made the cut. Here's what we found.
Morphe 24G Grand Glam Eyeshadow Palette
I've never been one to go big on eyeshadow - and not only because I've got unsteady hands and not an artistic bone in my body. Mostly just because I tend to go with more neutral colours and that's something that doesn't usually scream 'bold'.
Until I found this palette by Morphe that is. The Grand Glam palette gave me the perfect mix between neutral and bold, without going too wild on the brightness. The shades range from browns and creams to shimmery pinks and deep orange, giving my eye makeup a bit of oomph without taking me out of my comfort zone.
The pigments are stunning and easily buildable and blendable. My eye makeup lasted all day and night each time I used the palette. I'll be holding on to this one for a while, trust me.

Beauty Bay Bright 42 Colour Palette
When it comes to eyeshadow, I usually stick to what I know, which is warm-toned hues. However, wanting to venture out of my comfort zone, I decided to try the Beauty Bay Bright Palette and experiment with some different colours.
This palette is great value, with 42 generously-sized eyeshadows for £24. You get a wide range of colours in there, ranging from more neutral tones to bright blues and purples. I initially felt a little daunted at just how bright this palette is, but the colours are nice and blendable and due to the sheer range of shades, you can find a colour that works for you.
The palette comes with a large mirror too, which is definitely a bonus.
This palette comes with a mix of matte and glitter shades, perfect for creating a wide range of looks. Although this may not be the palette I reach for every day, I'm definitely glad to have it in my collection.

Aldi Lacura 'The Revival' Palette
I absolutely love Lacura products in Aldi purely for their outstanding value and quality, and this eyeshadow palette didn't let me down as expected.
I was absolutely gobsmacked at the price, considering the palette cost me £5.99 when I'm used to spending anything up to £40. The packaging was really gorgeous, with a pale pink velvet covering, something I've never actually seen before on an eyeshadow palette.
But was the eyeshadow pigmented enough? The answer to that is absolutely. I applied some to my lid and my jaw actually dropped at how pigmented it was, I was pleasantly surprised.
Perfect for day or night, the palette really does contain ‘highly pigmented shades’ like the product description says. It also included a bunch of my favourite eyeshadow shades include warm and pinky tones, making it a really nice summer/spring palette.
