We tried Edinburgh's latest boozy brunch and the courses were incredible

With summer now making its arrival, there's no better time of year to enjoy a boozy brunch with your friends and family.

Luckily, Edinburgh is full of spots to enjoy some nibbles and a few cocktails, with a number of venues offering the sittings around the city.

However, this week we headed down to Superico, the latest to be serving up a weekend brunch menu, that comes complete with four courses and drinks to accompany it.

For the pretty reasonable price of £20 per person, you are given four sharing small plates between two, as well as four custom made cocktails with Twenty Light gin.

So, to see if the quality lived up to the price, we sat down to enjoy all four courses, and were instantly impressed with the first gin and tonic served up.

With quick and attentive service, the first course was quickly brought over, which included a sharing platter of a flatbread, different dips and roasted vegetables.

Providing a fast and tasty fix for our initial appetite, the first course went down a treat, and we moved onto the second cocktail which was a take on an Aperol Spritz.

Although the courses were filling, each felt very light which was ideal for a boozy brunch, with none of the dishes making us feel too stodgy or heavy.

Some particular highlights were the 'beef cheek hash', served with potatoes and a fried egg, as well as the final dessert course which consisted of a fresh and warm fruit waffle.

The final cocktail was also a dessert in itself, with the green mixture of creme de menthe and twenty light making it feel like you were sipping on an After Eight.

Overall, we can definitely say the brunch was a complete bargain for the quality we were served up, and would definitely recommend you put the experience on your to do list.
