Rio Ferdinand has begged Kylian Mbappe to get in touch with him as he hopes to convince him to join Manchester United.
It comes after reports emerged suggesting the striker wishes to leave Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid in January after becoming unhappy in the French capital, despite signing a bumper new deal earlier this year.
The 23-year-old has scored 12 goals in 13 matches this season in a star-studded team that contains Lionel Messi and Neymar. He had been consistently linked with a move to Madrid before signing his new three-year contract in May.

Recent reports suggest that Mbappe believes a number of promises that had been made when he penned the new deal have been broken, while his relationship with Neymar is said to have become fractured amid claims he asked PSG to offload him in the summer.
Liverpool had reportedly made an approach for the striker earlier this year but Madrid were always the frontrunners if the Frenchman had decided to leave. However, Ferdinand is trying to hijack any potential move by convincing him to join United.
He sent a message to Mbappe, imploring the superstar to contact him after the pair featured in a Between The Lines episode for BT Sport in March. He tweeted: “WhatsApp me bro @KMbappe,” before posting a clip, which began: “Kylian, we talk a lot.
“Just come to me. Speak to me. I’ll do this for you man. Just come to me, we’ll do a one-to-one. We spoke last time on Between the Lines and you know what, you spoke perfect English.
“It was great. We can get this done. Get back to playing football. One of the best players in the world, man. We want to see that, that’s what we want to see.”
