We simulated Brighton vs Arsenal to get a Premier League score prediction

Arsenal will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday when they face Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gunners showed great character to come from behind to beat West Ham 3-1 in their last outing, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah all getting on the scoresheet. The latter impressed in Gabriel Jesus' absence, with the victory maintaining Arsenal's five-point lead at the top of the table.

Since Brighton's promotion to the Premier League in 2017, the Gunners have found it tough against the Seagulls, winning just three of their 10 meetings. The two sides met in the Carabao Cup third round in November, where Brighton beat the Gunners 3-1 at the Emirates.

So, can Arsenal continue their fine form in the Premier League? We simulated the game to find out.

We simulated Brighton vs Arsenal to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that the hosts could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Colwill, Estupinan; Gilmour, Gross; March, Lallana, Mitoma; Trossard.

We predict that the Gunners could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Arsenal looked sluggish in the first half of the game, and their poor start was reflected by the scoreline as Brighton went 1-0 up through a Leandro Trossard free kick. The hosts took that lead into the break, but despite the Gunners showing big improvement in the opening stages of the second half, Brighton doubled their lead.

Trossard sent Brighton 2-0 ahead (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Adam Lallana tackled the ball from Martin Odegaard in midfield to start a Brighton attack, and he threaded a pass down the left for Trossard to chase. The Belgian held off Ben White's challenge before breaking into the box, and as Aaron Ramsdale came off his line, the forward curled the ball around the 'keeper and into the net.

Arsenal had a chance to get back into the game when Eddie Nketiah was caught by Lewis Dunk inside the box and a penalty was awarded, but Bukayo Saka's effort was saved by Robert Sanchez to keep the Gunners at bay. Martin Odegaard hit the post from close range and Sanchez made another handful of saves to keep Arsenal out, but the Gunners managed to pull a goal back through a moment of magic.

Martinelli made it 2-1 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

As Arsenal worked the ball around the Brighton box to look for a way through, Thomas Partey clipped a pass over the top of the defence and into the feet of Martinelli. The ball fell perfectly to the Brazilian who opted to shoot first time, and his volley was hit sweetly, looping over the 'keeper with power and dropping into the far corner of the net.

The Gunners swarmed the Brighton box in the final 10 minutes, and amazingly the ball was kept out of the net as Saka, Nketiah and William Saliba all struck the woodwork in the same attacking phase. It didn't seem like it would be Arsenal's day, but in the 94th minute, Arteta's side found the equaliser.

On the left, Nketiah skipped past his marker to break into the box, and on the stretch, the striker poked a hopeful pass into the box. The ball fell to Partey inside the area who made a late run forward, and the midfielder drilled his shot underneath the 'keeper to salvage a point in the last few moments of the game.

FIFA 23 predicted final score: Brighton and Hove Albion 2-2 Arsenal

Here are the full-time match stats.

FT stats from Brighton 2-2 Arsenal on FIFA 23 (EA SPORTS FIFA)

FIFA 23 predicts that it may just not be Arsenal's day against Brighton, with the Gunners having to come from behind and claim 2-2 draw at the death against the Seagulls. Arsenal hit the woodwork four times and missed a penalty in the simulation, but at 2-0 down, a point away to a strong Brighton side isn't the worst result in the world.
