We simulated Arsenal vs Liverpool to get a score prediction for crucial Premier League clash

Arsenal face Liverpool this evening in what could be a huge clash for both teams, as Mikel Arteta's side look to continue their unbeaten run.

The Gunners have won their last five games in the Premier League and moved into the top four after an impressive 2-0 win against Leicester City at the weekend, and with games in hand over their top-four rivals. Arteta praised Jurgen Klopp in his pre-match press conference and admitted his side will need to be at their best to beat Liverpool at the Emirates.

The Spaniard remained tight-lipped regarding Takehiro Tomiyasu's availability for the game and was full of praise for Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale ahead of the crucial fixture, agreeing with the idea that the English core in the squad has helped both players adapt to the club quicker.

So, what line-up will Arteta select against Liverpool? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Arsenal v Liverpool on Wednesday and this is what happened...

Arsenal vs Liverpool score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Arsenal could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ramsdale; Soares, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Lacazette.

We predict that Liverpool could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago; Diaz, Mane, Salah.

Arsenal started the game strongly and put Liverpool under pressure in the opening 20 minutes, with Saka and Martinelli causing issues down either flank for the Gunners.

Martinelli had the best chance of the first half as the Brazilian received a smart pass from Tierney, before turning inside the box and firing a fierce shot towards goal, forcing Alisson into a brilliant save to tip the ball around the post for an Arsenal corner.

Arteta's side were much the better side with Odegaard and Lacazette creating chances around the Liverpool penalty box, along with Saka and Martinelli threatening from wide positions, but the away side's defence stood firm and kept the score level at 0-0 heading into the second-half.

Liverpool's 'keeper kept the visitors in the game with yet another fine save after the break, this time denying substitute Emile Smith Rowe after the 21-year-old drilled a shot towards the top corner, only to see the Brazilian tip the ball over the crossbar.

The Gunners continued to pile on the pressure into the final 10 minutes, but Liverpool remained dangerous on the counter-attack with the pace of Salah and Diaz causing Tierney and Cedric Soares issues as the game wore on.

Jurgen Klopp's side took the lead in the 85th minute, against the run of play, through winger Luis Diaz. The Colombian scored his second goal in consecutive games after Salah set him up with a clever pass inside the Gunners' penalty box.

Liverpool patiently worked their attack out to Salah who lured Tierney and Martinelli in with some quick footwork before playing the ball into Diaz inside the penalty box, with the former Porto man turning sharply and placing the ball past Ramsdale into the far corner with his weaker foot to give the away side a 1-0 lead heading into the final five minutes.

Arsenal were unable to respond having conceded so late in the game, with Liverpool's goal deflating the team as the Gunners winning run in the Premier League came to an end in dramatic fashion.

FIFA 22 predicted final score: Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

Here are the full-time match stats.

FIFA 22 predicts that Arsenal will switch their tactical set-up to relinquish possession and focus on counter-pressing and creating chances through winning the ball back high up the pitch, with this resulting in the Gunners' having the better of the chances shown by their higher xG.

Liverpool's quality in defence and attack would make the difference, with Alisson denying both Martinelli and Smith Rowe before Diaz scored late on to steal all three points, despite a spirited and brilliant performance from Arteta's side, who remain in the top four by a single point.
