A hotel in the heart of Snowdonia claims its Facebook page was hacked after a post appeared on its Facebook page alleging it "did not care about locals. The Heights in Llanberris posted an apology and claimed the post was made by a disgruntled former employee.
The original post said that the hotel, near Llyn Padarn, cares more about tourists than local people and making allegations that the hotel was ripping people off. Now a Facebook post from the hotel appeared this afternoon apologising for the message and confirming it had been written by a former member of staff.
Most people reading the post assumed it was an unofficial message written by a disgruntled former employee with access to the hotel’s Facebook account. When contacted, staff at the hotel declined to comment, reports NorthWalesLive.

It read: “A disgruntled ex-employee with his own axe to grind has been placing malicious and damaging comments online. This ex-employee was due to attend a disciplinary meeting regarding his conduct, and we can only apologise to all our loyal customers for his behaviour. The comments posted are his own, and in no way representative of the company.”
With seating for 300 people outside, The Heights is a popular point for social gathering in Llanberis. Last year it hit the headlines when setting up its own own “Euro 2020 fan zone” for Welsh football fans. The venue has also hosted concerts.
