Arne Slot had an ominous message after watching his Liverpool team swat Tottenham aside to power into the Carabao Cup final – they feel no fatigue and are only getting stronger. Liverpool won 4-0 on the night at Anfield for a 4-1 aggregate triumph to set up a Wembley final against Newcastle on Sunday 16 March.
“There are two reasons why we become stronger,” the Liverpool manager said. “First of all, if you play more often together you know better what is expected. So the first time I tell them how to bring the ball out from the back against a 7-9-11 press, they were maybe like: ‘OK.’ But the more times you face them, the more it becomes natural for you.
