Manchester City fans have waxed lyrical about Kevin De Bruyne after the superstar hit the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
The playmaker hit the net on 67 minutes to cancel out Vinicius Junior’s first-half strike. The Belgian smashed the ball home from 25 yards out in what was a true thunderbolt, giving Thibaut Courtois no chance.
The goal came against the run of the second half play, as Madrid’s did in the first period. Pep Guardiola will be delighted with the result ahead of the return leg at the Etihad next Wednesday.

De Bruyne had missed the Premier League wins over Fulham and West Ham through a leg knock but returned to play the whole 90 minutes against Leeds in Saturday’s 2-1 win. His strike at the Bernabeu takes him to double figures for the season after starting against Madrid.
City fans were delighted with De Bruyne’s long-range effort and took to Twitter to praise their midfielder. Some crowned him as the greatest player of all time while others shared their gratefulness that he is a Blues player.
