We rated Dyson Airwrap, GHD and Beautyworks dupes predicted to be in the Black Friday 2022 sale

Hair tools for Christmas gifts will be massive this festive period with so many leading brands battling for the top spot with the most wanted products. The likes of Beautyworks, Dyson, GHD and more are going to be heading up most Christmas wish lists this year with the market flooded with potential must haves for all hair types.

When you scroll through the thousands of product listings on the likes of Amazon, you can see just how many dupes there are to make the most of low prices on site. There are endless dupes of the top, biggest brand names out there, some which we imagine will be in this year's Black Friday deals.

The Reach Reviews team has had the chance to trial some of the dupes available and some are already great value for money but we expect to see some further reductions for one of the biggest sale days of the year.

Stacey Dutton gave the PEFOOK range a try with this waver, which rivals the Beautyworks £76.50 version - and the results were astounding

This year's big hair trend is the mermaid wave and what better way to get the look than with an Amazon, a cheaper alternative of the Beautyworks popular waver. The longer, wavier the look the better for me, so with my recently fitted micro ring extensions I really wanted to trial the natural, beachy look.

The PEFOOK hair waver is just £21.99, and there are plenty of other cheaper alternatives available on the Amazon pages (you just have to do a bit of scrolling). With lots of events and places to go over these last two weeks I've been able to have a good play with the styling kit and I'm honestly so impressed. I achieved these two looks with the wavers and couldn't be more impressed.

Look one

This is a fuller looking, more natural wave, I waved smaller sections and lightly brushed out for a thicker style. I love these waves for a more casual day time look and this style just needs fringe touch ups, a spritz of dry shampoo and could last anything up to four to five days.

Like with any hair tool, it depends on the thickness, coarseness and general health of your hair, on how well it will style and hold under heat. I have quite fine hair but lots of it so I feel like mine can hold styles pretty well.

Look two

I wanted to have another go of this look with a little more products and I was pretty happy with how this look turned out. I had a bottle of Morrocan Oil (100ml available at Look Fantastic for £32.85), with me and lathered a lot of it on once styled.

I didn't keep the waver tool on my hair too long with this look, I wanted a more sleek look with just a subtle wave. The best thing about creating this look is that no amount of oil is too much, the shinier, healthier glowing your hair is the better.

Beth Shufflebotham gave the Remington Curling Wand a go, and got amazing results

The Remington range is without doubt always on offer on Black Friday. You can currently get this product we have reviewed below for just £36.99, keep your eyes peeled for a pending price drop.

My hair has always been notoriously difficult to curl because it struggles to hold the style for much longer than an hour. Naturally straight and fairly long, styling my hair into blow-out style rings or waves can take a lot of time, patience and hairspray.

But I’ve recently been using a Remington curling wand that transforms my hair in half an hour with low heat to prevent damage. The Remington Hydraluxe curling wand is priced at £36.99 on Amazon.

Remington said: “The Hydraluxe Curling Wand gives you beautiful, healthy looking, shiny curls without the worry of excessive heat damage. The Moisture Lock Ceramic Coated Barrel helps to preserve the hair’s perfect balance of moisture, while the Hydracare Temperature Setting styles at the lower temperature of 185°C for healthy styling.”

The wand features a sleek design with white handle, gold barrel and black tips, with small, almost concealed buttons for switching it on and adjusting the temperature settings. Ahead of using the wand I washed my hair with the Superdrug Me+ argon oil shampoo and conditioner, drying it with the Remington Thermacare Pro 2400 hair dryer.

Heat protection spray is an absolute must when using styling appliances, so I split my hair into sections and gave it a good spritz before warming up the curling wand. The Remington Hydraluxe Curling Wand comes with a heat protection glove to wear on your non-dominant hand - or the hand you’ll be holding your hair, rather than the wand with - to avoid burns.

After switching on the curling iron you can adjust the temperature with the + and - buttons, but the recommended temperature is 185 degrees for ‘healthy’ styling. The Remington device heats up quickly in around 30 seconds, so you can get started on curling your lower layer of hair straight away by wrapping sections around the barrel. Curls take around 10 to 15 seconds to form before they can be released.

Some people may want to pin their curls up while they’re still warm for a longer-lasting, more defined look, but I prefer a more relaxed, bouncy look for every day. The digital temperature control has five settings reaching up to 210 degrees and has a temperature lock function so that you can’t accidentally knock the settings up or down.

It also features a swivel cord which means you’re not constantly fighting with the cable between curls, and a heat protection stand to avoid melting your windowsill or burning your carpet. There is also an automatic safety shut off after 60 minutes, which should give you plenty of time to curl your hair, and adds a little extra peace of mind.

The 32mm barrel has an anti-slip coating, so I found that when I was curling my hair it wasn’t sliding all around the barrel. It’s a slightly chunkier wand than I’ve previously used but I really liked the big bouncy effect it gave.

My best advice is to let your curls cool before spraying them with hairspray and giving them a brush through as it helps them to last longer. My curls lasted all day and still looked great the next day too, albeit a bit more slept on and messy. The Remington wand comes with a handy storage pouch to keep it in, ideal for travelling if you’re going away this summer.

You can buy it for £36.99 on the Amazon website here.

Rebecca Astill tried out the Remington S8500 Shine Therapy Advanced Ceraminc hair straightener, which is said to be a GHD dupe

Hair straighteners are one of those things you can either spend hundreds on or a mere £20. But that always begs the question, are these expensive straighteners actually worth it?

I am a very proud owner of the Remington S8500 Shine Therapy Advanced Ceramic Hair Straighteners and I first bought them because people say they are better than GHDs. I had only previously used GHDs a couple of times but their quality is legendary.

This week, Amazon Black Friday is looming and we believe there will be offers across their hair tool ranges- and we are holding out for Remington's dupe specials to go on sale.

One review on the Remington S8500s said: “I’ve had GHD straighteners and these are the best I’ve ever used and such a good price,” while another said: “I’ve only ever used GHD or Cloud Nine, I will be using these from now on.”

The Remington hair straighteners are infused with Moroccan argan oil which really works to increase shine in your hair after straightening. It works by using micro-conditioners which emit through the plates onto your hair when used.

As I always do, I first sprayed my hair with Tresemme Care and Protect heat protectant all over, then brushed my hair through with my Tangle Teezer wet brush . After a couple of minutes, to let it soak in, I sectioned my hair.

I have naturally thick, slightly wavy hair and this straightened each section with only one run through, leaving it shiny, hydrated from the oil, and in no way frazzled. I added a little oil to my ends (I use Kerastase Elixir or Schwarzkopf got2b Oil as a cheaper alternative) and I was finished within five minutes.

My hair was straight, smooth and healthy and stayed straight all day without the need for hair oil. I really think these are the best budget straighteners on the market.

You can buy the Remington S8500 Shine Therapy straighteners on Amazon for £29, down from £79.99.
