'We need actual change': mum calls out NSW mental health system over huge gaps

Merewether mum Kelly Kay says revelations of a $600 million funding shortfall in mental health funding in NSW reflects "a system that struggles to acknowledge its own failures".

Mrs Kay, of Merewether, lost son Kahi Simon at age 20 to suicide, five days after he was discharged from Taree Hospital's mental health inpatient unit in 2023.
