GUWAHATI: India skipper Rohit Sharma's goodwill gesture of withdrawing Mohd Shami's Mankading appeal against rival captain Dasun Shanaka on Tuesday has won him a lot of hearts and praise. Team management's decision to play opener Shubman Gill instead of southpaw Ishan Kishan also worked well as the Punjab lad went on to score a fluent half-century in the first one-dayer at Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
However, there are some areas which India need to ponder upon leading up to the ODI World Cup later this year in India. And a comprehensive 67-run win should not leave those under the carpet.
