Graham Potter has granted Lewis Hall a start in Chelsea's clash with Newcastle United and Blues fans are all saying the same thing. The 18-year-old impressed in the west Londoners' blockbuster Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City midweek, slotting in a left wing-back.
Hall, who sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in 2025, injected new life into a Chelsea side who had been struggling to source a catalyst that will transform the club's dwindling form. In the absence on Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella, he shouldered the duo's responsibilities with ease and came close to marking his display with two goals.
Reacting to Hall’s performance, Potter told Sky Sports: "Lewis Hall did brilliantly. Fantastic performance. Great quality great effort.

"You can see he can take the ball, He took responsibility. Putting the ball in the net is the hardest thing and that’s all he didn’t do today but everything he did do was fantastic."
After showcasing his ability against the Premier League champions, large sections of the Blues fanbase called for Hall to be integrated further into the first-team squad. And, coincidentally or not, Potter has reportedly rewarded the Cobham star with another start.
Potter's brave decision to start Hall has ignited excitement among Chelsea supporters with many said to have rekindled a report with their club which has gone through somewhat of an identity crisis since the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel. With that being said, football.london has taken a look fans' reactions to Hall's start on social media.
