Wattbike launches Hub+ a premium version of its training app including a workout builder and outdoor compatibility

Wattbike has been around for more than 20 years, with a one-goal mission of creating the ultimate indoor training bike. Wattbike claims that no other indoor trainer measures each pedal stroke and revolution with such precision and that Wattbike provides quick and accurate insights to maximize every workout.

The indoor cycling specialists are now adding Hub+, a premium subscription version of its training app that they say delivers class-leading workout customization, deeper integration with third-party apps and exclusive training content. Wattbike Hub+ will be available as a subscription option alongside the smart bike brand’s existing free Hub app.

The Hub+ subscription is available at $7.99 / £7.99 per month or $79.99 / £79.99 annually and they say it will significantly expand a rider's training scope. Wattbike adds that the original Hub app will remain free and will still be packed with workouts, plans, Grand Tour climbs, benchmark tests and pedaling effectiveness score technology.

One of the most interesting features on the Wattbike Hub+ app and one that they hope will attract subscribers is a host of new premium features. Including personalized training progression, that uses what they say is the industry’s only mobile-friendly workout builder.

Exclusive training content will also be available for Hub+ subscribers for all types of bike rider and fitness enthusiasts. Wattbike users will be able to access Hub+ for free for 30 days to trial the features and to find out how they can improve their performance. Read on below for a more detailed look at some of the new additions.

Workout builder

In what sounds like a very attractive feature, Wattbike says it has created a powerful new training customization tool designed with ease in mind. A simple drag-and-drop feature allows users to configure segment blocks in-app on their tablet (iOS and Android compatible). Once created, they can also be shared and exported to Zwift, and other third-party training apps. There’s also the ability to fine-tune individual targets specific to different training variables such as percentage FTP, percentage THR, cadence and HR.

Workout sharing

One of the most innovative features is the ability to share custom workouts with other Hub+ users. Workouts can be shared via the user’s preferred channel (such as WhatsApp, email, SMS, Airdrop) and if the workout is edited after it’s been shared, it’ll automatically update for your friend too. And it works the other way around also, with pre-made workouts from friends, coaches or Wattbike partners available.

Workout export

Workout Export allows users the flexibility to complete their custom workouts on Zwift and other training apps. In addition, you can export workouts to bike computers to train outdoors, which will be particularly useful for users who train indoors and outdoors.

Premium training content

Hub+ users will be able to unlock extra training content including training plans, workouts and challenges in addition to the existing free workouts. Wattbike already works with leading athletes and sports scientists to ensure the most up-to-date and innovative research is shared with premium users.

The Wattbike Hub+ app is available now and is compatible with iOS and Android devices. Currently, it’s exclusively for Wattbike users. Priced at $7.99 / £7.99 monthly or $79.99 / £79.99 annually.

The award-winning Wattbike Atom retails at $2,999 / £2,399 and you can currently save $400 / £250 for a limited time only. For more information, please visit wattbike.com.
