Waterloo Street assault leaves man 'seriously injured'

A man in his 40s was hospitalised after he was "seriously injured" following an assault in Derry city centre last week, police say.

The assault, which is reported to have occurred at around 11.15pm on Waterloo Street on Tuesday, September 20, was reported to police yesterday, Wednesday, September 28.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
