Waterloo Road fans are thrilled to find out Donte and Chlo will be reuniting for the new BBC iPlayer reboot.
Adam Thomas, who played Donte on the hit TV show and Katie Griffith who played Chlo both took to their social media pages to announce the reunion.
They posted on their Instagram pages that they'd be taking part in a new series for BBC iPlayer and BBC One where other original cast members would be joining.
Adam shared a sweet snap hugging Katie announcing the good news as well as a throwback photo from when they both acted in the first series.
Alongside the pics he wrote: "The news is finally out!!!
"Donte and Chloe are back!! @kaytgriff @waterlooroad coming soon… @bbc @bbciplayer #waterlooroad."
Fans of the on screen couple took to the comments to express how excited for them to come back together in the new programme.
Diversity member Jordan Banjo is clearly a fan of the show as he said: "Right, I’m actually going to cry."
As a follower said: "Oh. My. God. I cannot cope with this news!!!!!!"
A third person commented: "I can’t contain myself!!!!" as another added: "Oh WOW!!!!!!! Congratulations @adamthomas21!!! I LOVE that show!!! This is amazing!! Well done."
While Katie shared a similar message as she posted a series of snaps with Adam along with Angela Griffin, who said she'd be returning to the show as the headteacher.
Katie posted photos of the three of them reading their new scripts, however a release date wasn't included.
She wrote: "Big news! I'm going back to school! I'm so so excited to be returning to @waterlooroad reunited with @adamthomas21 and @angelagriffin and loads of new faces yet to be revealed.
"Coming to @bbciplayer later this year. #waterlooroad."
Followers commented on the post, showing how happy they were with the news.
One person said: "I cant wait for this waterloo road is my favourite TV show," and another commented: "So so excited to see you back in Waterloo Road. Can't wait to see what's in store for all of you."
Another wrote: "I have binged on Waterloo all weekend this is the best news."
While a fourth added: "My favourite waterloo road characters cannot wait for this! Nothing beats the original series."
It's been reported that filming is set to begin in Manchester very soon, with episodes airing later on this year.
Adam and Katie will be making a return as Donte Charles and Chloe Charles, while Angela will come back as much-loved teacher Kim Campbell, who has since had a promotion to Headteacher of the school.
Waterloo Road first aired on the BBC back in 2006 and finished in 2015, as it became one of the UK's most popular long-running TV dramas.
It was confirmed in September last year that would be making another return to our screens with fans of the original series excited for original characters to return.
