WaterForWellness (W4W) has formally detailed its strategic roadmap for 2026–2028, positioning the organization as a primary actor in the resolution of the global water crisis. Transitioning into a specialized entity, W4W, supported by the foundational expertise of the Queen Zaynab Foundation is scaling its operations to address the intersection of climate change and essential resource security across the Global South.
A Mandate for Human Dignity
The organization was born from a mission to alleviate the systemic inequities witnessed by its founder, Her Highness Queen Zaynab, during her upbringing in Nigeria. Having observed the profound impact of extreme poverty on children, where lack of clean water serves as a barrier to basic education and healthcare; Her Highness established W4W to secure water as a fundamental human right.
"Water is life," stated Her Highness Queen Zaynab. "Our commitment is to bring life, in all its fullness, to the communities that need it the most. We are saving lives, and we won't stop until every community has access to the clean water they deserve".
Strategic Response to the Continental Water Crisis
WaterForWellness enters the humanitarian landscape at a critical juncture. Current data reflects a staggering deficit in infrastructure:
- Access Gap: As of 2023, approximately 411 million people across Africa lack basic drinking water services.
- Sanitation Crisis: An estimated 779 million people on the continent lack basic sanitation.
- Economic Impact: The organization advocates for a shift in perspective, viewing water as an investment. Global data indicates that for every $1 spent on water, $4 is unlocked in economic value.
To navigate the difficulties of data scarcity in the regions they serve, W4W employs a rigorous methodology, utilizing both first-hand and secondary data sources to ensure its interventions reach the most underserved demographics.
Forward-Looking Goals: 2025–2028
With a decade of empowerment history through its parent foundation, which has funded over 1,162 women to bolster local food security and economic sustenance; W4W is now focusing its specialized lens on infrastructure.
The organization has set a definitive target to bring clean water to at least 1,000 communities over the next three years. By prioritizing transparency and credibility, W4W seeks to attract a new coalition of partners from the financial services, business, and entrepreneurial sectors across Africa and the Middle East.
