A member of Waterford's backroom team was sent off on Sunday afternoon after appearing to strike Limerick's Gearoid Hegarty.
The incident happened during a fiery Munster Hurling Championship clash in Thurles as Limerick ran out winners by 1-18 to 0-19.
The staff member appeared to connect with Hegarty on the side of the pitch, with the Limerick man being sent off for a second bookable offence moments later before the referee sent the man to the stand.
Hegarty could be seen pointing to his chest as he spoke to John Kiely on his way off the pitch, gesturing that he had been hit.
He also exchanged words with the Waterford bench, with the Limerick boss doing the same after speaking to his player.
