Water flow in rivers increases to nearly full capacity, fields submerged in heavy rainfall in northern Haryana districts

AMBALA/KURUKSHETRA/YAMUNANAGAR: The water flow in rivers in three northern districts of Haryana, Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Yamunanagar, increased to nearly full capacity, and the agriculture fields got submerged on Sunday, due to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours.

In an advisory by the district administration in Ambala, the National Highway (NH) 152 has also been fully closed and people have been asked to avoid using NH-44 (GT Road) from Ambala to Ludhiana. The agriculture fields in all three districts are waterlogged and the water is expected to drain with gravity. The agriculture officials said that the situation is being closely monitored and the actual position of waterlogging would come to light in the next 24 hours.
