Police on duty after wrongful arrest of Indigenous teen

Police who arrested an innocent Indigenous teen at gunpoint after they mistook him for a suspect remained on duty during an investigation of whether race or excessive force had been used.

The Commonwealth and ACT ombudsman released a report into the actions of three police officers, criticising the failure to clearly define "racial profiling" following the arrest of the Aboriginal 17-year-old in November 2025.
