WATCH: Zach Ertz throws bad first pitch in Phillies game with wife

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz is still loved in Philadelphia. He played seven and a half seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to Arizona.

He and his wife, Julie, did great work in the community there.

The Philadelphia Phillies invited both Julie and Zach to throw out a first pitch in their game on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox.

They did it and Zach was outdone by his wife.

Zach’s throw was not good.

Julie’s was great. Zach’s, while not the worst first pitch we have ever seen, was in the dirt.

That led to some healthy mocking from now-retired J.J. Watt, who played for the Cardinals the last two seasons. Watt and Ertz are close friends.

Ertz might not throw a baseball well but he does catch the football well, which is what the Cardinals need him to do. He is coming back from a torn ACL.

Hopefully he will be ready to start the season and is catching passes better than he threw that baseball when Week 1 rolls around.

An offer for Cardinals fans
