WATCH: West Ham 2-1 Wolves Highlights From 'El Sackico'

Julen Lopetegui lives to fight another day as West Ham United manager, as his side beat Gary O’Neil’s Wolves in entertaining ‘El Sackico’. You can watch the West Ham vs Wolves highlights below.

Julen Lopetegui Gets Better Of Gary O’Neil In ‘El Sackico’ With 2-1 West Ham Win

The first half at the London Stadium may have produced no goals, but it certain wasn’t a dull affair. Both West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers had chances to break the deadlock, but neither could.

For the Hammers, it was Crysencio Summerville who looked the most lively and likely to create an opening for West Ham. His quick feet and pace troubled the Wolves defence at times, but the former Leeds United man couldn’t quite find an opening for his side.

For the visitors, it was Matheus Cunha who looked like he could be the one to conjure up an opportunity for his side, but he couldn’t quite do so. Not for the want of trying though, he looked lively but went in referee John Brooks instead, receiving a yellow card just before the break.

The game was very much in the balance with 45 minutes to play, with the best football betting sites in the UK finding it difficult to pick a winner for ‘El Sackico’. The game was simply a must-win for both teams, with both Julen Lopetegui and Gary O’Neil at risk of the sack if they fell to another defeat.

HT: West Ham 0-0 Wolves

Just nine minutes into the second half, it was the Hammers who struck first through Tomas Soucek. The West ham midfielder headed home a Jarrod Bowen corner at the back post, giving the hosts the lead.

Just five minutes later West Ham thought they’d doubled their lead through Mohammed Kudus, but his ‘goal’ war ruled out for offside by VAR.

Wolves found an equaliser 15 minutes after going behind, with Matt Doherty firing home from inside the area after a pinpoint Rayan Ait-Nouri cross from the left-hand side.

They weren’t level for long though, as Jarrod Bowen wrapped up all three points for the Hammers with a sublime effort from outside the area. After scoring the winner, Bowen held up a shirt of teammate Michail Antonio in support, who is recovering after surgery in hospital following a horrific car crash on Saturday afternoon.

This 2-1 victory for West Ham keeps them 14th in the Premier League table, but within a point of Manchester United and two points behind Newcastle and Spurs. Wolves however remain second bottom, with Gary O’Neil looking like he could be on his way out of Molineux after yet another defeat.
