Watch: Vikings DT Harrison Phillips arrives to training camp in style

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Harrison Phillips has never been one to shy away from making a grand entrance, and he didn’t disappoint when reporting to the team’s training camp on Tuesday.

He came riding in hot on two wheels with a scooter and some great advice for rookies on the team.

“Advice to rookies. Buy a scooter with a weight limit big enough to hold you. Well, back to school,” said Phillips.

The former Buffalo Bill is expected to be one of the key pieces along Vikings defensive coordinator Ed Donatell’s defensive front.

But while he’s a feisty lineman hell-bent on snuffing out runs and delivering sack lunches to opposing quarterbacks on the field, he’s also brimming with enough personality to become a fast fan favorite.

The Vikings allowed an average of 130.7 rushing yards per game last season, which was the seventh worst in the league.

There’s hope Phillips can help plug some massive holes up front with guys like Dalvin Tomlinson and D.J. Wonnum by his side. If he plays as well as he rides, the Vikings defense could be in business this season.
