WATCH: Venkatesh Iyer takes a stunning catch to get rid of in-form Virat Kohli

NEW DELHI: Catches win matches is an age-old saying but it matters the most when you grab something extraordinary to take out the big fish and the same thing happened on Wednesday when Kolkata Knight Riders' Venkatesh Iyer took an outstanding catch to get rid of Royal Challengers Bangalore's stand-in skipper Virat Kohli in an IPL match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The incident occurred in the 13 over of the innings when Kohli stood tall to pull an Andre Russell short ball which was pitched outside off. But to his dismay an athletic Iyer grabbed a stunner at deep midwicket to send well-set Kohli back in the RCB dugout.

The ball was travelling flat and fast as Iyer dived to his left to complete the catch despite the ball hitting his hands high. But he recovered in time to prevent it from wobbling out of his hands and making the Chinnaswamy crowd stunned.

Kohli played a fine knock of 54 which came in 37 balls and included six boundaries.
