Saturday was a significant day in Jacksonville Jaguars history as former left tackle Tony Boselli was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. With his enshrinement becoming official, he became the first player from the Jags organization to earn the honor of being enshrined in Canton in the franchise’s 28 years of existence.
With many family members and friends in attendance at Tom Benson Hall of fame Stadium, Boselli was presented into the Pro Football Hall of Fame by his best friend and former Jags quarterback Mark Brunell. In the process, his bust was revealed before the first-ever Jags draft selection took the podium for a speech that was over 12 minutes.
In his speech, Boselli thanked the various people who played a part in his career from his family members, coaches, teammates, fellow media members, and more. However, he saved his last thanks for his father, the late Tony Boselli Sr., who passed away in 2001 after a battle with cancer. Towards the end of his speech, Boselli also shouted out the Jags’ fanbase with a “Duval!” chant as they’ve been very vocal about him earning his spot in Canton.
