While the Tennessee Titans and the rest of the NFL are on a “break” before training camp begins later this month, quarterback Malik Willis and wide receiver Mason Kinsey remain hard at work, as do many players.
Willis, who is coming off a rough rookie campaign and is entering his second season in the NFL, currently figures to be on the roster bubble after the team drafted Will Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft.
By all accounts, the Liberty product has been outperforming Levis thus far, but doing that while in shorts and a t-shirt during the offseason program is hardly confirmation that Willis is locked into the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill.
Instead, Willis must keep the momentum going during training camp and the preseason and continue to outplay Levis if he wants the No. 2 job and a spot on the roster. Failure to do that could leave Willis among the final cuts.
Here’s the video of Willis throwing to Kinsey recently. It was originally posted to Kinsey’s Instagram story.

Willis will reportedly be “fighting for a roster spot” throughout Titans training camp.
Willis has reportedly “outperformed” rookie QB Will Levis in off-season practices, but is still “not guaranteed” a roster spot.

In our quarterbacks preview for training camp, Willis beats out Levis for the No. 2 job and secures his spot on the roster. We’ll see if that comes to fruition once Tennessee makes its final cuts on August 29.
