Tennessee Titans star safety Kevin Byard has yet to arrive for the offseason program in 2023, which is a departure from years past when the veteran would arrive early on in the process.
There has been some thought it’s because the relationship between Byard and the team isn’t great right now after he refused to take a pay cut earlier this offseason.
However, perhaps Byard is simply taking a different approach to how he prepares, something we’ve seen cornerback Kristian Fulton doing.
On Thursday, Byard retweeted a video of himself and fellow defensive back and former Titan Logan Ryan working out together. Also included in the tweet is a hint that Byard is recharging his battery.

Byard has earned the right to do whatever he wants, whether that’s preparing at the facility or outside of it. At the end of the day, he’s a professional who will be there when it’s mandatory, and he’ll be ready to roll when that time comes, something his coaches are well aware of.
“Obvously he’s a huge part of what we do here,” Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen said, per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “I have zero, zero doubt that Kevin Byard is going to be ready to go when he gets here.”
