SCOTLAND’S all-female driving team for the new single-seater GB4 Championship has lifted the lid on its Laser Tools Racing livery for the track machines.
The Graham Brunton Racing duo of 20-year-old Logan Hannah, from East Kilbride, and Chloe Grant, from Perth, are delighted with the look of the Tatuus F4-T014 cars.
For Chloe, seeing the racer in its full glory at Laser Tools’ Warwickshire HQ and then testing it at the famous Donington Park circuit, near Derby, was a superb early birthday present.
When Chloe turns 16 on Sunday, she will be at her home venue, Fife’s challenging Knockhill track, putting the Tatuus through its paces.
She said: “I’d been shown the livery design on paper a few weeks ago, which looked great. Seeing them in the metal with the chrome blue, they’re even better than I’d imagined. I love them!”
Craig Brunton, manager of the Knockhill-based race team, said: “I might be biased but these are definitely the best looking cars on the GB4 grid!
“We knew they would look mega, and Laser have certainly knocked it out the park. We’re very pleased and as proud as ever to be running these cars for Chloe and Logan.”
Meanwhile, Ginetta stars Josh Hislop and Michael Macpherson made their debuts in the Britcar Endurance Championship at Silverstone last weekend.
Hislop, from Portlethen, Aberdeenshire, and Inverness driver Macpherson joined Ray Harris in the TeamHard G55 GT4 and came home 13th overall and third in class.
Hislop said: “What a way to start the season – P3 in my first ever GT4 race! It was an absolute pleasure to share the car with Michael and Ray and, considering we’d never driven the car before, I think a podium is a great achievement.”
The meeting also saw the first Praga Cup races of the season, with Lockerbie’s Gordie Mutch joining YouTube star Jimmy Broadbent. But they had a mixed weekend, with a fourth place in the opening round before a mechanical gremlin ended any hopes of glory in race two.
Bathgate’s Paul Di Resta and his United Autosports Oreca 07 team-mates had solid performances in the Sebring Prologue two-day test in Florida ahead of the 12-hour World Endurance Championship race.
Airdrie’s Ryan Dalziel will also be competing in the same event this weekend with his Era Motorsport LMP2 crew as they mount a challenge in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
