RENOWNED British car maker Jaguar Land Rover is unleashing two incredible beasts on to the large SUV market.
First up is the exclusive Jaguar F-PACE SVR 1988 Edition inspired by the XJR-9 LM that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year. Created by the firm’s SV Bespoke personalisation experts, just 394 examples will be built – one for each lap completed by the winning Jaguar.
It features unique Midnight Amethyst paint, Champagne Gold forged 22in alloy wheels, exclusive Sunset Gold accents inside and out, as well as a special “One of 394” graphic.
Power comes from a 550PS V8 supercharged petrol engine that propels the car from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 178mph.
The F-PACE SVR sits at the top of Jaguar’s SUV line-up, with enhanced high-performance driving dynamics and yet still retains everyday usability.
The Edition 1988 will be presented at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 8 to 12, and makes its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 23 to 26. Priced from £101,550 on the road, it is available to order now.
Jag SVO director Mark Turner said: “Pairing the F-PACE SVR’s rewarding performance qualities with a level of personalisation and exclusivity never offered before makes the Edition 1988 a captivating proposition.”
Meanwhile, the new eight-seat Land Rover Defender 130 is also now available to order, priced from £73,895 for an entry-level P300 petrol mild-hybrid X-Dynamic SE model.
Diesels start at £78,555 and the 12-model range tops out at £100,645 for a potent high-spec P400 X variant. The new model is 34cm longer than the 110 and offers a 2+3+3 seating layout with a boot space of 389 litres, rising to 2291 litres with the rear two rows folded.
All versions have eight-speed automatic transmissions, the firm’s latest Terrain Response computerised off-road system and Pivi Pro infotainment system with an 11.4in touchscreen as standard.
LR executive Nick Collins said: “The 130 transports up to eight people in supreme comfort, enabling unparalleled sophisticated adventuring opportunities for families, with unique design signatures to create a distinct new Defender experience.”
