Liverpool booked their place in the Carabao Cup semi-final with a 2-1 win over Southampton and you can watch the highlights below.
Arne Slot’s side got off to a strong start and took the lead in the 24th minute, as Darwin Nunez finished off a swift counter attack.
Liverpool continued to get the better of Southampton who entered their first match without Russell Martin following his recent departure.
The visitors came close to doubling their lead through Harvey Elliot, but his effort was well-blocked by Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
It did not take long after that for Liverpool to extend their lead, as Elliot ghosted into the box and placed the ball into the bottom left corner.
Southampton did not have many chances of their own with Liverpool having the advantage in all areas but Cameron Archer came close – forcing a strong save from Caoimhin Kelleher.
As the second half began, Liverpool found their rhythm almost instantly and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s superb cross was almost converted by Alexis Mac Allister.
The Saints did manage to pull one back towards the end of the Carabao Cup quarter final clash, as he took advantage of a defensive mishap and placed the ball into the back of the net.
Southampton pushed for an equaliser leaving them vulnerable to a counter attack as Federico Chiesa almost took full advantage and came close to scoring his first goal for the Reds.
Liverpool managed to hold on despite some late pressure and the Reds will be one of the favourites going into the semi finals on UK betting sites.

Arne Slot’s side will have their semi-final opponents revealed on Thursday 19th December, but the Reds’ focus will turn to Sunday’s Premier League visit to Tottenham.
As for Southampton, the Saints will go into their first Premier League match without Russell Martin on Sunday – as they face Fulham at Craven Cottage.
