Rashid Shaheed was mic’d up at a recent New Orleans Saints training camp practice, sharing a day of work from his perspective, which you can watch here. He wore a microphone onto the practice field for the final training camp session before the Saints had their first day off, and that was his message as he greeted his teammates in the huddle.
“Last work day, last work day,” Shaheed repeated, dapping up Jamaal Williams and other players around them. It’s obvious he brings as much energy before the snap as he does when he’s running downfield with the ball headed his way.
He’s a bit of a joker, too. Shaheed had a great reaction to offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak wiping out while demonstrating a drill and brought some levity to the session himself, dancing to the practice music playlist between reps. He’s someone Derek Carr sought out before and after team drills, but he returned the favor by complimenting younger teammates like Mason Tipton on running a great route.
And he spared a glance for the sideline, too: “I’ve got to make a play or two, my family’s out here watching.”
