Maxx Crosby was sitting at 49 sacks coming into today’s game against the Vikings. It would take him just over a quarter into the game to reach the 50-sack milestone. And, of course, he had to fight through a hold to get it.

The hold was declined.
Crosby’s career milestone makes him the 5th player in Raiders franchise history. to do it. The other four are:
1. Greg Townsend 107.5
2. Howie Long 84
3. Anthony Smith 57.7
4. Bill Pickel 53
He’s reached 50 sacks in his fifth season, which means he officially averages double digit sacks throughout his career.
Crosby now has 12.5 sacks on the season, which means he surpassed Khalil Mack’s 40.5 sacks over seasons with the Raiders in Week four to replace Mack in the franchise top five.
It’s also conceivable Crosby could move into the top three in franchise history by season’s end. Then he can set his long term sights on the Townsend and Long career totals. Crosby has four and a half games left this season.
