Watch: paddlers' amazing close encounter with mother humpback and calf

Port Stephens outrigger crews were left spellbound when a humpback and her playful calf put on an acrobatic display metres from their canoes on Saturday morning.

The crews left from Shoal Bay at 8am on Saturday for their usual weekend training session heading around Tomaree headland through the port's entrance.
