Watch out Samsung! Switch to Sky's TV and you'll get premium content for free

Samsung, LG and Sony fans might be tempted to try something new thanks to a money-saving offer from Sky. The satellite TV firm has just announced the launch of a brand new deal that's offering its clever Glass television with premium content beamed to the big screen for free.

That means owners will pay as little as £14 per month for the telly without picking up the tab for additional things to watch on it.

This offer features channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Max, and Sky Documentaries with those signing up not paying a penny to watch content for the first three months of the contract. There's even full Netflix access thrown in as well bringing access to shows such as Drive to Survive and the awarding-winning movie All Quiet on the Western Front.

For those not already aware, Sky Glass is a fully connected television that uses broadband to whizz shows, box sets and movies into your living room.

There's also an in-built soundbar to help boost the audio and there's no need for a separate set-top box as everything is tucked inside the case.

Unlike Sky Q, there's no hard disk so you can't physically record your favourite shows. However, Sky has introduced a new Playlists system which stores content on the cloud or via catch-up services such iPlayer and ITVX. That means you can still add the things you like to watch to be viewed later.

Other features as part of Sky Glass include a backlit remote control with keys that light up so you can easily spot them at night plus there's full voice control which helps you find shows and content just by barking orders at the screen.

Sky Glass comes in three sizes (43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch) and also a number of colours including Dusky Pink, Ocean Blue and Racing Green.

Thanks to it being internet-connected, there's no need for a dish to be drilled into the walls and there's no fussy installation with Sky delivering the large screen and users then plugging things in and watching content within minutes.
