After a season in which the team needed to use five different quarterbacks, the Cleveland Browns made a point early on to pay top dollar for a quality backup. The Browns guaranteed veteran Jameis Winston $4 million with a chance to double that in incentives.
You would be hard-pressed to find many better backups in the league, and you definitely won’t find any as entertaining as Winston. The new quarterback was in Berea this week to sign his contract with Cleveland, and the video the team released made it look like he was having a great time visiting.
Winston made a point to ask everyone he talked to what their name was and shake their hands. While out on the field talking to the grounds crew, with snow on the ground, Winston seemed to be taking it all in, and he said, “Thank you, Lord,” at that moment. The offseason continues, and the team will be back on the field before we know it.
