Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff were traded for each other three years ago, forever linking them in NFL history. The Rams went on to win a Super Bowl in Stafford’s first season, and now the Lions are trying to cash in with a title of their own after beating Los Angeles in the wild-card round on Sunday night.
They went toe-to-toe for 60 minutes in what was a thrilling 24-23 victory by the Lions. Stafford threw for 367 yards and two touchdowns, while Goff threw for 277 and a touchdown, each posting a passer rating above 120.
After the game, the two quarterbacks came together for a cool moment on the field. It’s hard to hear what was said, but Stafford said “I appreciate you, brother” to Goff a couple of times.

The Rams face the Lions next season so as long as both quarterbacks are still with their respective teams – no one should believe otherwise – we’ll get a rematch at some point in 2024.
