Watch: Lip cut, mouth taped, this Indian batter still came out to bat and won hearts

NEW DELHI: The Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final on Wednesday witnessed something that first surprised everyone and then won hearts when it was learned that the batter, Baba Indrajith, was batting with a tape on his mouth because he cut his lip in a fall during the innings break, but still came out to do his job.

Chasing 294 against Haryana, Tamil Nadu were in a spot of bother at 54/3 when Indrajith walked in and could be seen having a tape on his mouth. The in-form 29-year-old batter was pivotal to Tamil Nadu's chances, but he was in discomfort a few deliveries into his knock and required medical attention to check and re-adjust his dressing with firm taping so that it doesn't become loose or fall off.
