Ruud Van Nistelrooy Begins Leicester Tenure With Huge Win Over Hammers
The hosts got off to a flying start as Jamie Vardy put the hosts ahead with a trademark run and finish inside the first two minutes.
The goal was originally ruled out for offside but after a VAR review the effort was deemed to be onside and Van Nistelrooy’s reign began with a bang.
Vardy came close to scoring his second of the game just a few minutes later, but Lukasz Fabianski was on hand to stop the Englishman this time around.
West Ham began to get a foothold on the game and club captain, Jarrod Bowen, almost found an equaliser but Mads Hermansen produced a superb save.
Bowen came close to scoring just a few minutes later but was thwarted by the Leicester goalkeeper once again.
Mohammed Kudus showed no signs of lacking match sharpness after missing five games through suspension and was a constant threat for the Hammers.
The Foxes started the second-half strongly looking to build on their 1-0 lead and Vardy almost doubled the lead as his header flew agonisingly wide.
West Ham thought they had found an equaliser in the 59th minute as Tomas Soucek found the back of the net but it was instantly ruled out for a foul.
Moments later Van Nistelrooy’s men doubled their lead through Bilal El Khannouss, as the Moroccan placed the ball into the bottom left corner after a swift counter attack.
West Ham struggled to get into the game and Leicester thought they had extended their lead to three, but Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s effort was ruled out for offside by VAR.
The Foxes did managed to get their third of the game, as Patson Daka was too quick for Max Kilman and placed the ball into the near post past Fabianski.
Lopetegui’s side to managed to find a consolation goal in the 91st minute, as Nicolas Fullkrug marked his return to the side with his first Premier League goal.

Leicester are one of the favourites to go down on UK betting sites and Van Nistelrooy will take charge of his second match in front of the Leicester faithful once again, as the Foxes welcome Brighton to the King Power Stadium.
