In their first home playoff game of the postseason, the Knicks stymied the Cavaliers 99–79 to take a 2–1 series lead. New York’s impressive performance was definitely helped by the Madison Square Garden crowd, which was as rowdy as expected on a Friday night.
Knicks fans are some of the most intense in all of sports, celebrating singular wins like no other fanbase does. After Game 3, fans showed their excitement on the streets of New York outside of MSG, which started by chanting “Knicks in 5” to show their confidence that their team can eliminate Cleveland over the next two games.

Then came the return of the “Bing Bong” guy who, a year-and-a-half later, still wanted to know whether Kevin Durant regrets not joining the Knicks.

Fans were so excited by the win that they even started playing basketball in the streets of the city at midnight.

This all happened after a Game 3 win in the first round of the playoffs, so it’s hard to imagine what would happen if the Knicks advance further. The fanbase has waited a long time for the team to produce a winning product, and it is letting it all out after playoff wins.
