When the Washington Commanders selected Penn State wide receiver in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft some believe the team reached. Not Washington. The Commanders were thrilled to move down five spots, add multiple draft picks and get a player they loved.
During OTAs, minicamp and training camp, Dotson quickly developed a rapport with new quarterback Carson Wentz.
In his NFL debut in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dotson’s first reception was a seven-yard touchdown catch.

Dotson puts a terrific move on the defensive back to find an open spot in the back of the end zone where Wentz finds him for an easy touchdown.
Congratulations to the rookie on his first NFL catch — and touchdown.
