Incredible video footage showing units of Dublin Fire Brigade carrying out a demonstration on the streets of the city has given Dubs a unique look at the history of the service.
The video shows firefighters speeding through the top of Grafton Street and what today would be Stephen's Green Shopping centre.
Instead of the flashing lights of fire trucks, they used horse-drawn carriages with locals clearly amazed by what they were seeing as the Dublin Metropolitan Police struggle to keep the crowds at bay.
The firefighters then assemble a ladder that is capable of reaching higher floors in buildings before the video cuts out.
The decades old footage made a big impression on Twitter users.
One tweeted: "Pretty cool. Loving see old videos and pics of town and other areas of Ireland in general, tbh."
Another complimented Dubliners attire tweeting: "Imagine if everyone wore suits whenever they left the house now. That’s sort of a baller move."
Meanwhile, Dublin Fire Brigade shared this nugget of information when they tweeted: "It is something else. Filmed by the Lumiere brothers I believe, outside the now Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre."
