Michigan State basketball was in a must-win situation on Wednesday night and they found a way to get it done.
While it was ugly, the Spartans were able to stave off an uspet bid from Northwestern to earn the 53-49 victory. Michigan State improved to 18-12 overall and 10-9 with the Senior Day victory, and may have also secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Seniors Tyson Walker led the Spartans in scoring with 19 points and Malik Hall contributed with a double-double (15 points and 17 rebounds) to lead Michigan State to the victory.
