Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke was off to a terrible start in his first appearance in 2022. Heinicke had an interception returned for a touchdown in the first half of Washington’s Week 7 game against the Green Bay Packers. In addition, Heinicke was off-target on several of his first-half throws.
However, on the Commanders’ first possession of the second half, offensive coordinator Scott Turner looked to get Heinicke comfortable with some short throws and the running game.
At the same time, Washington needed to get No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin involved in the game. McLaurin had just one reception for six yards in the first half, through no fault of his own.
Finally, Heinicke found McLaurin down the field.
It is spooky szn after all 👻

Heinicke with his best pass of the day, throwing a 37-yard dime to McLaurin to give the Commanders their first lead of the day.
Is this the play that can get Washington’s offense going?
