The moment a British Airways flight struggled to land during strong winds this week was caught on camera.
The BA flight from Aberdeen to London's Heathrow Airport was caught on camera by planespotting live streaming channel Big Jet TV.
Dramatic video, which you see above , shows the highly trained crew onboard the Airbus A321 neo battling with the winds as they attempt to land on Heathrow's northern runway.
The plane is seen to struggle to remain level as it approaches the runway, as strong winds from Storm Corrie hit the UK on Monday, right after Storm Malik stuck at the weekend.
The pilot gets the plane all the way down to the tarmac when a late gust appears to blow it around, and the plane tilts dramatically to one side, and the left wing tip almost touches the runway.
The crew then take the plane into an aborted approach manoeuvre called a 'go around' - a standard safety procedure whereby they abandon the approach and come back around for another attempt for any number of reasons.
As the plane lifts off from the runway, the tail of the aircraft is seen on the video to come very close to the runway.
The BigJetTV Twitter account tweeted the footage, and commented: "A full-on Touch and go, with a tail strike! Watch for the paint dust after contact and watch the empennage shaking as it drags. The pilot deserves a medal!"
The flight in question was the BA 1307 from Aberdeen to London Heathrow.
The Airbus A321 neo went around for a second attempt at landing, which was successful.
A British Airways spokesperson said: “Our pilots are highly trained to manage a range of scenarios, including extreme weather conditions, and our flight crew landed the aircraft safely. Our customers and crew all disembarked as normal.”
Strong winds across the country wreaked havoc - with more than 100,000 homes in north eastern Scotland left without power for some time.
It comes as aircraft were seen to struggle to land at Manchester Airport this past weekend. Dramatic video published on the Manchester Evening News shows the terrifying moments for passengers that flights from Alicante and Malaga are forced to abandon their landings due to the strong winds.
