Jayden Daniels started his second NFL game on Saturday against the Miami Dolphins, playing two series and leading the Washington Commanders on one scoring drive.
Daniels completed 10 of 12 passes on Saturday against the Dolphins for 78 yards. He also carried the ball twice for 13 yards. The rookie quarterback led Washington into Miami territory on the team’s opening drive, but kicker Riley Patterson missed a field goal. If Patterson had made the field goal, Daniels would have led the Commanders on scoring drives in each of his three series this preseason.
While Miami would ultimately defeat Washington 13-6, it was another standout performance from the Commanders young quarterback.

While some would have liked to have seen Daniels play more, remember that the Commanders had joint practices against the Jets and Dolphins, giving him plenty of time with the offense working against opposing defenses. You could make the case those practice sessions were more important for Daniels than the three preseason series.
