The New England Patriots scored the first touchdown in their preseason game against the Washington Commanders.
Rookie quarterback Drake Maye stepped onto the field for his first drive of the game and led the team downfield. He connected with Kevin Harris on a short pass that the running back turned upfield and carried into the end zone for six points.
This particular drive had a little bit of everything, as Maye ran the football to extend the drive. Rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk also got into the act as well, as he was able to help move the ball down the field.

This drive showcased what the offense is capable of with Maye under center, and it could be a sign of things to come. The Patriots moved the ball efficiently and made the plays they hopefully make when it really counts in September.
