Washington Commanders wide receiver Dyami Brown knew he was entering a make-or-break season in 2024. The fourth-year wideout is entering the final year of his rookie contract and has only 29 receptions for 476 yards and three touchdowns in his career.
Washington fans have waited every year for Brown to become a reliable option opposite Terry McLaurin, but for one reason or another, it hasn’t happened. Brown did have a breakout game in 2022, catching two passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee.
But there was no follow-up from Brown or the team.
Fortunately for Brown, he has a clean slate under a new coaching staff. He worked hard in the offseason and is firmly in control of the Commanders’ No. 3 wide receiver spot after a strong start to training camp.
On Thursday, the Commanders had a joint practice against the New York Jets, and Brown continues to show signs of breaking out. Check out this big-time catch from Brown on a Jayden Daniels’ deep ball in the rain.

Perhaps having an excellent deep-ball thrower like Daniels is the key to unlocking Brown’s potential. Remember, Brown is still only 24 years old.
