Many forget that Jameis Winston, the backup quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, was a two-sport athlete during his time at Florida State.
While he was well known for his dominance on the football field, Winston was also a pitcher and outfielder on the Seminoles’ baseball team. And a new video has surfaced of Winston throwing an absolute rocket from right field to gun down a runner at the plate.
The OBR’s Noah Weiskopf has the footage on his Instagram page:
It’s worth noting that Winston was drafted out of high school by the Texas Rangers in the 15th round of the 2012 MLB draft. He was drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL draft after winning a national championship and a Heisman trophy during his time at Florida State.
I’d say football has worked out well for him even if he could have played professional baseball. He has, after all, made $72 million playing football.
