Scottish singer Nathan Evans was up for Song of the Year at the 2022 Brit Awards - but was more excited at the prospect of meeting his music idol at the show.
The 'Wellerman' singer/songwriter was strutting the red carpet ahead of the awards ceremony, when he spotted the 'Bad Habits' singer speaking to the cameras near him.
When asked about his nomination, the 27-year-old said: "It's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. To be nominated, it's just incredible!
"Last year, I was here just as a guest and a performer, and it was an absolute privilege to just be here.
"Now, to be here, and to be nominated, it's just a dream come true, incredible stuff."
Nathan was nominated for Song of the Year alongside some big names, such as Adele, Stormzy, Tom Grennan and idol Ed Sheeran.
Adele scooped the award in a three-Brit Award bulldoze over the competition: winning Song of the Year for 'Easy on Me', Artist of the Year, and Album of the Year with her fourth studio album, '30'.
When asked who he was excited to see at the ceremony, Nathan couldn't contain his undying love for the English singer Ed Sheeran, as he has previously spoke of his admiration for the star.
Nathan said: "He's going to be absolutely sick of me saying his name, and I've said it for about 12 months now, but it's Ed Sheeran.
"He is one of my biggest idols, he's the reason I play the guitar, the way I write songs, the way I perform.
"He is just incredible, he's an amazing person, and if I had to write a song with one person, it would have to be Ed Sheeran, definitely."
Nathan will be embarking on an European run of shows in May 2022, starting off in Zurich, Switzerland, and ending in Köln, Germany.
