EDINBURGH Zoo has brought back a “reimagined” version of its world-famous penguin parade.
The “Wee Waddle” takes place from Thursdays to Sundays at 2.15pm, with the penguins out of their enclosure for around 45 minutes.
It allows visitors to get up close and personal with the penguins and to see a different, typically more cheeky, side of their personalities.

The first Wee Waddle officially took place on Friday, and the star personalities are already making themselves known to keepers.
“Even though we’re only a few days in, it’s already easy to spot the troublemakers,” one of the keepers said, referring to Fry, a gentoo penguin seen trying to eat the wheel of a buggy through the mesh fence.
Keepers also pointed out Kevin, a notorious penguin who made quite the name for himself after getting banned from the original penguin parade for biting people’s ankles.
Sunday was the first day the king penguins (pictured below) had decided to join in on the Wee Waddle, enticed by buckets of fish.
The penguins are free to go back into their enclosure at any point, yet many of them seemed eager to join in with a queue forming by the door before the Wee Waddle had even begun.
The Wee Waddle is free to visit, and will only take place in the autumn and winter months, to avoid interfering with the penguins' breeding season.
