Watch as Celtic star Daizen Maeda suffers hilarious Japan open goal warm-up mishap

Celtic star Daizen Maeda suffered a hilarious mishap while warming up for Japan during the international break.

The Parkhead winger, 26, was on the bench for his country against China - before coming on for the final minutes of the 3-1 win earlier this week.

While Japan secured victory, it was Maeda's antics in warming up for the match that caught the attention as he suffered a bizarre blunder.

Video footage shared online shows Maeda running towards and open goal only to then blast the ball off the post.

To make matters worse, the ball then rebounded to strike Maeda square in the face.

The Celtic winger did see the funny side of the clip - which has been viewed upwards of 7million times - though as he commented: "Funny right? I did it on purpose!"

And a fourth replied: "mate you are the funniest guy in the world man love you so much."
